3 Top Candidates, 3 Unfavoured For Super Eagles Top Job

3 Top Candidates, 3 Unfavoured For Super Eagles Top Job

With just two months until the crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin, many Nigerians are still worried about the absence of a substantive coach who will manage the team.

royalcartas999.online‘s AUSTINE AKHILOMEN highlights three top candidates: Emmanuel Amuneke, Domènec Torrent, and Toni Conceicao, who seem to be the top three picks of the Nigerian authorities from which one will emerge to become the substantive replacement for Jose Peseiro – as the new Head Coach of Nigeria’s senior national football team.

Read also in this piece, the profile of another prominent candidate who showed interest in the job but is no longer in top reckoning, namely; Finidi George, Danny Buijs, and Herve Renard.

Emmanuel Amuneke (Nigeria)

Touted by many football enthusiasts as the next potential coach of the Super Eagles after the departure of Jose Peseiro in February. He seems the authorities’ choice if they can’t afford to bankroll an employment of a foreign coach.

Amuneke will be remembered for leading the Golden Eaglets to win the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup. With some of the players such as Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze already playing for the Super Eagles.

The 53-year-old has played a pivotal role in nurturing several Nigerian talents who have successfꦰully tran🐷sitioned from youth football to the senior national team.

He had a successful stint with the Tanzania senior national team, qualifying the team for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where they lost all three matches against Algeria, Senegal, and Kenya in Group C.

Domènec Torrent (Spain)

Former assistant coach to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, Torrent will be counting on his experience, having worked with high-profile clubs in Europe.

The 61-year-old has worked closely with Guardiola throughout his coaching career, including stints at Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, where they achieved significant success, winning numerous trophies.

Torrent’s last job as manager was when he was named Galatasaray head coach in 2022. However, after a string of losses in the Super Lig, he was shown the exit door on June 21, 2022.

While Torrent is yet to secure a trophy as a head coach, he is known for instilling a silky attacking style of play in his teams, a quality many Nigerians have been yearning for since the Super Eagles’ performance at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where they won silver after losing to the host, Cote d’Ivoire, in the final.

Toni Conceicao (Portugal)

Conceicao is not a stranger to African football culture, having coached the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, where he finished in the top spot in the qualifying series of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations despite being the host.
However, he led the team to a third-place finish before he was dismissed in 2022.

Some of the clubs the Portuguese tactician has coached include CFR Cluj, Moreirense, Nea Salamina, Penafiel, and Belenenses, to name a few.

Conceicao will compete with several high-profile coaches on the continent for the coveted position of managing the three-time AFCON champions.

UNFAVORED CANDIDATES

Finidi George (Nigeria)

One of Jose Peseiro’s assistant coaches left the job after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, where Nigeria finished second.

Finidi is another quality coach who has made his name with Enyimba International before being saddled with the responsibility of managing the Super Eagles on an interim basis.

Victory for the Super Eagles against their arch-rivals, the Black Stars of Ghana in an international friendly in his first game in charge was a big result for his dossier. However, a loss against Mali in his second game in charge put questions on his ability to manage the team.

Danny Buijs (The Netherlands)

Danny Buijs is a 41-year-old manager from the Netherlands who is currently in charge of Fortuna Sittard. Buijs’ Fortuna Sittard is currently 11th on the Eredivisie table with just nine wins from 30 league games.

It’s worth noting that Danny Buijs ended his playing career with amateur side Kozakken Boys, and a couple of years after his retirement, he became the team’s head coach.
It’s important to point out that Buijs has no experience with national teams; he didn’t even represent any country during his playing days.

Herve Renard (France)

He was once regarded as the white-witch doctor of African football, having won the Africa Cup of Nations with two different nations, Ivory Coast, and Zambia respectively.

Recall that in 2012, he led Chipolopolo of Zambia to win their first-ever Afcon trophy before helping Ivory Coast to their second Afcon trophy in 2015.

At the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Renard’s Saudi Arabia team shocked the football world by defeating eventual world champion Lionel Messi’s Argentina in the group stages.

Still under contract with the French female football team, Renard needs no introduction again as he has seen it when it comes to African football. It is, however, not yet known if the NFF will be patient enough to wait until his cont♏ract expires on May 31st.

WORDPRESS: 126
  • As Super Eagles fan, i feel there’s no need rushing to employing a new coach mostly now that we have few weeks to important matches. I would rather suggest that Finidi continues till after the qualifiers to give the NFF apple time. Or, the NFF can rely on their constitution to enable its technical department over see the June matches.

  • If you can’t get us that Reinard, please let Finidi continue.

  • Big Boss 3 weeks ago

Whoever wrote this about Amuneke is part of our Nigerian footballing problem. Amuneke, serial failure.

  • Give to Amuneke or wait for Harve Renard if the NFF can afford him.

  • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

NFF should choose btw Amuneke or let Finidi hold position as interim if Renard agrees a pre contract after the Olympics to take up the job. I love this write up highlighting what the naysayers refused to point out of Amuneke. Paul Put’s Burkina Faso lost the final to Keshi’s Nigeria and not Herve Renard.

  • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

Skin pain what lie has the person written? and stop using fake I.d to spread your hate.

  • Please did you people regard Amunike as a high profile coach because he won U-17 world cup that Manu Garba and many other local coaches has won for Nigeria because am confused.

He could not even get a point at the so called AFCON he qualify Tanzania to. And the qualification itself was not due to his performance but as a result of other teams in the group fumbling. SA will beat SE home and away if they dare appoint Amunike.

If he’s a good coach, why has he been jobless for many years now. None of the local coaches can handle the SE believe it or not

  • I agree with @Monday that time is too short to be experimenting with a new coach, who may not understand the sentiments, strength and weaknesses of the current SE squad before the double WC qualifiers against South Africa and Benin- and that the interim coach Finidi should be allowed to handle those matches and if possible given the role for atleast two years or more if he can qualify the SE for the 2026 World Cup.

  • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

@SeanT Which coach will use Tanzania to do wonders? Una don start again.

  • It’s the honest truth. His profile is far from being regarded as average because he has none. I’m still amazed NFF even consider his application in the first place. Like a whole SE given to Coach without pedigree. All NT are appointing coach for their teams it get to SE turn, they turn it to big brother audition.

I have nothing against Amunike. He’s a good player but he has not done anything special to be given SE job. What he achieved for the Eaglet, other local coaches has achieved that so what’s the big deal about winning U-17 world cup when we all know about AFRICAN Age cheat scandal.

  • But you except Rohr to perform wonders with Benin Rep @Chima

  • How many other local coaches won U-17 World Cup for Nigeria? Didn’t Eguavoen take U-17 team to World cup (team that had Mikel and other talents) yet failed to make it past the group stage? Hasn’t that same Eguavoen coached Super Eagles twice? What was Cisse’s coaching record before he was given the Senegal job? What was Hevre Renard pedigree before Zambia hired him? Are you aware that Renard was sometime an assistant coach in Ghana? Yet Ghana didn’t look towards his direction but Zambia. Renard was largely unknown before he coached Zambia – the rest is history. What did Philip Trossier, Laggerbeer and Onigbinde achieve for Nigeria? What pedigree did they have before coaching Nigeria? What did they achieve after Super Eagles? If we aren’t going for Zidane, Mourinho, Marcelo Bielsa, Pellegrini, Antonio Conte, Julian Nagglesmann or Thomas Tuchel, I see no reason why Amunike can’t coach Super Eagles. He’s a product of Spanish system!

  • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

@Muyiwa I have never and will never be interested with whatever Rohr does with his life. I don’t think I have spoken about Post Rohr look for those people. You people amaze me when was the last time A foreign coach won Afcon or WAFCON that we are refusing to back of this mediocre thinking? Black coaches have schooled white coaches lately in Finals of Afcon and won majority of WAFCON yet we no wan get sense for this Republic.

  • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

SeanT name the Naija local coach that you think will do a better job than Amuneke and would have also “qualified” Tanzania for Afcon? I will also appreciate If you can prove the players who are over-age else make God forgive you for this false accusation. Is it Chukwueze that is still acting childish in the locker room or Osigoal that was overage? Na them old pass Senegalese or Brazilian kids???

    • And what has Amuneke achieved that makes him deserving of the SE coaching job?
      @Chima

  • Those white Coaches they schooled were also mediocre. When teams coached vy Mediocres faces each other, fluke will be the order of the day.

Do you think if that stupid Peseiro is a good coach Ivory Coast will beat SE at the final ? NO

Ivory Coast were not fantastic, SE approach to the match made them look like super stars. Aina was injured, likewise Ekong. Iwobi was played out of position throughout the tournament. Osimhen made to run all the field without support. He refuses to make use of the bench. He worn out all the starting 11 b4 the final.

We all see what Ihaenacho did in few minutes He played at AFCON. SO all this analysis is to let u know Peseiro is wack and you can’t use him as a yardstick for evaluating other white Coaches performance at AFCON or any other tournament.

He lacks game management, tactics and ability to make effective substitution during matches. He’s in same league with Rhor. If at all they are to appoint Local Coach, i will still prefer FINIDI because he’s active currently unlike his brother Amunike who has no offer from home or Abroad to coach a team but waiting on SE Jon.

Nigeria will win south with out a coach , unless Our players are not serious

  • The day Amunike manage the super eagle, that is the day Nigeria football dies.

  • I said, the day Amunike and/or Finidi George manage the super eagle, that is the day Nigeria football dies.

  • @ Opeyemi, you’re very funny. What you did here was to highlight his achievement as a footballer. What was his achievement as Coach for senior teams ? None. Except he wins U-17 world cup. After that he failed at U-20 level yet he want to progress to the National Team. Is that supposed to be a joke !

He should prove himself at local level. Take up an offer from Nigerian league for like 2 years b4 trying to stake claim to the NT. SE is a big brand. Forget all these comparison with other teams like Senegal you all are talking about. We know things don’t work that way here. Nigeria is a multi-ethnic nation and whether you like it or not, their is going to be favoritism, sentiments & tribalism if a local Coach is in charge.

Also SE job is not what you just give an inexperience coach to experiment with. We are in this situation because the NFF are thieves. If other Countries are giving their NT to under achieved Coaches, is it a must we follow the trend ? Can anyone remind me the last time teams like England, Spain, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Portugal, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa or Even Algeria just hand over her team to a Coach without a good record or history with the hope of suddenly grow with the team.

Osimhen & Chukwueze of U-17 are they still the same players now ? They’re now professionals. No indigenous coach is good enough to handle the SE. Our coached don’t improve their skills & upgrade themselves. All they do is wait to grab the SE job. Shey na curse ni ?

  • Amunike’s senior coaching record

Fa8led with Juliys Berger,Humiliated at Ocean boys.
Assisted Sia 1 to put blemishes on Sia 1’s records after never failing to qualify a national team from any African Qualification. Amunike destroyed Sia1 record with his ego and selfishness.
Dumped by Tanzania for woeful performance, relegated to youth team, dumped by Makassa in Egypt,
Lobbied his way into the Super Eagles and started dragging the team with Coach Cerezo to the point of creating division in the team. When the team lost qualification, he dissociated himself claiming he wasn’t in charge.
Went to Zanacco as a coach, his lack of technical and management skills got him demoted from team coach to a mere consultant before getting fired.
Stayed jobless for more than a year jumping from office to office begging and scrambling for Eagles Job. When he could have applied for Hearland or Abia Warriors job to at least prove himself like Finidi did with Enyimba but his delusional, corrupt, and despicable mindsets will not go away from the Eagles until him and fellow conspirators destroy the team and deny players who can’t offer bribes invitation.
Amunike is a serial failure and doesn’t even deserve to be shortlisted ahead of Finidi,Olise.and Egbo.
Hopefully, the nff is not playing the usual games of just using qualified candidates as a bait to hire to hire an unqualified serial failure.

@larry if anybody fails to reason to wha you just said and still remained adamant that AMU be given the job, such a person is a lover of failure.
Even NFF know him as serial failure , they will only consider him if NFF can’t source for money to pay a foreign coach.
Even at U17 Manu Garba teams play better football than AMu U17.

  • Coach Bobby 3 weeks ago

@John-1, As a national team coach, Renard won AFCON with Cote d’Ivoire and later with Zambia. He did well with Saudi Arabia as well. He is not in the same league as Rorh, Peseiro and Amuneke. His pedigree is way higher.
I doubt if the NFF can afford Renard’s asking wages.
The deciding factor in this search for a new coach is finance. If the NNF has the funds, they would go for a foreign coach, otherwise, they will settle for Amuneke
My worries remain that a local coach won’t get the needed support from the Glass House. There will be interference, sentiments and manipulation here and there.

  • Coach Bobby 3 weeks ago

    * Renard first won AFCON with Zambia and later with Cote d’Ivoire.

  • Amuneke ko amumirin ni, tactically bankrupt coach

  • Wait oooo my people. I think the angel I’m looking at the Super Eagles job, only few people can seeing it that way.

Come on my people. If Amunike could qualify a nation like Tanzania to the biggest tournament in Africa then Oga Rohr, Paseiro and other foreign coaches are not in the same category with Amunike.

Is just that we Nigerians devalued our own and we don’t respect ourselves in Africa.

If Paseiro who had no good record could manage such a team like Super Eagles then what is holding NFF back from getting Amunike on board?

We can see now the way Oga Rohr is struggling in Benin and I am expecting Paseiro to apply for a job with lesser teams in Africa to see if he can play another Afcon final.

Our NFF is the major problem of the Super Eagles. It shows that NFF is not competent, this is why they are wasting time to manipulate the situation of things now.

If Oga Rohr could be struggling to win matches with Benin national team while Amunike made history with Tanzania, so why can’t NFF ajewomasan announce Amunike immediately after the afcon in Ivory Coast?

We don’t need a foreign coach. If they are good enough, they will manage their national teams or one of their local club teams. So, no room for half done foreign coaches. Amunike is the man for the job. Let’s fail with our own and learn from our mistakes and make the corrections period. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

My brother, I will always be on your side on this search for a coach for the super Eagles. I recently watched an interview Samson Siasia did sometimes last week, and I can tell you some Nigerians are wicked. Devil really dwells in the heart of some Nigerians. I was almost close to tears hearing him speak, mind you he had lost his Father the day of the interview. Am saying it with all confidence all those hating the ex-players are just wicked souls who just come here and type rubbish and nonsense. Took my time to go back to revisit the Oliseh and Enyeama saga and am wondering why people will come here and be faulting him for the arrogant behavior of a so called star. Except you are deluded, will you come here and say Oliseh has no man management skills. How much can we just hate ourselves for no reason

Amuneke! Former Africa footballer of year, Former nation Cup and Olympic Gold medal winner, played and scored world Cup goals for Nigeria, played in Nigeria local league and knows our league, won multiple trophy in Africa and European league as a vital player, Former Barcelona winger, sporting Lisbon player, Has seen it all as a player and manager, has tasted success and failures and learned from them to become solid and better manager, brand and styles of football is like Barcelona and exciting,! Nigeria under 17 world Cup winning coach against world class coaches from other countries, Former Tanzania manager and qualified them for afcon after over 40 years of failure, No present Nigeria players is bigger than amuneke to become a problem, they will sit and listen and learn from the best ever Nigeria has to offer presently, A lovely living legend, Give him just 2 years contract let us observe him,, westerhof needed 5 years to win afcon, rohr dubiously was given 5 years of failure, peseiro got 2 years of disappointment result and style of play, Keshi was a success, siasia was successful and now amuneke will follow that trend,, the answer to Nigeria winning again and to our domestic and international football success is in amuneke hands and head of oil and grace that brings back victory and trophies! NFF PRESIDENT JUST GIVE HIM 2 YEARS UNA HEAR? God and thunder go fire those nff members and officials and technical incompetent committee that were negotiating and soliciting for a foreign failure coaches after taking bribe and lining up oyibo salary kick back, amuneke, Michael nsien and finidi as coaches! Nigerians are very satisfied and happy with that trio!!!! God bless Nigeria and Nigerians oh! Our own na our own oh.

  • @John-1, please ask them o. How many… Sorry, WHICH local coach has won any FIFA tournament or even coached another country to qualification after 42 years from the Afcon?

Is it Egauvoen, Siasia, Oliseh? None. Yet these 3 have coached the SE without all the hullabaloo. But the one who has achieved what none of these local coaches have done is being told U-17 and qualifying Tanzania for the Nations Cup after 42 years is ‘NOTHING’. Let any of your favorite local coaches achieve half of these first before yarning opata.

What makes Torrent or Conceicio better than Amuneke, aside from his skin color? Yet you rail against your own cos he’s not from your tribe, or at least a minor tribe you don’t consider a rival. They will accept Finidi cos he’s South-South. They will even accept a middle beltan or northern coach. But not Amuneke. It’s too much of a pill to swallow. Irredeemable bigots.

Just come out and declare your hatred for Amuneke. And when he’s officially announced, stop supporting the Super Eagles.

As for CSN, please saxk our web developer or find another competent handler. The guy it guys are confused. Too many plugins making your site look like a dustbin and occasionally freezing key functionalities like comments. Now, I can’t even directly quote John-1.

  • @Chima, haven’t you noticed there’s an ongoing campaign here to try to rubbish the giant profile of Amuneke, who towers above every other local coach? 2 forumites, in particular, are creating multiple monikers, using Eastern names or a different version of their monikers to vomit the same sentimental sewage they keep posting from thread to thread.

I understand the pure footballing arguments of people like Dr. Drey, Mr Hush, and Mr Greenturf who still believe a solid foreign is the best bet and can’t trust a Nigerian coach, no matter what their name is. Let’s separate the wheat from the chaff. There’s another group (or 2 forumites in particular) who simply can’t stomach a name like Amuneke as coach of the SE. They prefer South-South names like Finidi or Eguavoen instead cos that region of Nigeria are not a direct rival. Yet these bigots are always the first to point me and call them ‘bigot” while the other 4 fingers point back at them.

Suddenly, Amuneke’s U17 winning team is overaged. Lol. Hasn’t FIFA introduced MRI scans? In that regard, Only Tella and Amuneke can be regarded as true FIFA U17 winners. You can’t even count Amun’s averaged players in 1993, or Tella’s old men in 2007. No MRI scan back then. Even Ghana has not been able to qualify for the U17 World Cup since the hurdle was introduced. Yet they try to rubbish a coach who took real U17 players and emerged winner in competition that the whole world entered for. Let their other indigenous coaches win the local league first before comparing him with a former AFPOTY, a UEFA Pro A license coach, and winner of a FIFA competition.

Even Tella that won U17 with real U17 players too has not been deemed qualified enough to coach a foreign club or country, let alone qualify them for Afcon. He doesn’t even have a UEFA coaching license. You’re now telling a university lecturer who wants to become a VC to go back to teaching in a secondary school to “prove” himself to you???? NO RESPECT.

    • Abeg don’t mind these people who think everyone must see things from their view point. If U-17 World Cup is easy to win, how come Eguavoen didn’t win it? How come Nigeria hasn’t won all U-17 World Cup titles since its inception? Amunike is not just a U-17 World cup winner, he’s also a former African footballer of the year and the man who gave us three titles in crunch and deciding moments. If Alessandro Costacurta didn’t kick Amunike’s ‘blokos’ (after he had given Nigeria the lead), he would’ve destroyed Italy completely. His FIFA World Cup, AFCON, Afro-Asian Cup and Olympic heroics are enough qualifications to coach Super Eagles. He has the required coaching licence too.

All of a sudden Peseiro has become a good coach??? Lol. A man who’s team couldn’t string 15 passes together even when the team was blessed with CAF Player of the year and stars? No creativity, nothing – just anywhere bele-face or gather-and-play football. Abegi

@Kel at this point I’m backing out because I don’t understand the Hate. If the positives in his record is not taken into consideration but they expect him to do magic with Tanzania or Zamalek when Al Ahly is there then I wonder what kind of senseless arguments somebody wants to engage these people in. How many trophy has Tanzania and Zamalek won since Amuneke left them if they think he is a mediocre? Our nation is divided by sentiments that is the truth. Edoman too go just use vex come without giving any point.

Does the man that did magic with Comoros in 2022 AFCON and then went on to do magic again with Mauritania in the 2024 AFCON have 7 heads and 10 horns…?

Or was Kenya a team too big for Tanzania to at least draw, if not outrightly defeat at the 2019 AFCON…??!

The Tanzanian FA knew the backdoor deal they pulled ahead of their last qualifier vs Uganda to qualify for the 2019 AFCON, and they knew point blank it had little to do with Amuneke’s tactical prowess, that was why they never hesitated to sack Amuneke after the AFCON.

The man was subsequently demoted to Academy coach in Egypt within 2 months and sacked for almost relegating one of the biggest clubs in Zambia within 7 months.

Let me not add the fact that he was also a part of the 9 dullards who needed Musa (or was it Ighalo sef) to tell them Ghana had changed tactics in the WCQ that killed our Qatar 2022 dream

4 straight failures in a row..!!!

That is the right man in your blindless of heart to be the next SE coach.

Later you will open your arrogant mouth wide and claim you don’t celebrate mediocrity. Keep it up…!

      • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

Oya make una hire the Comoros coach na. Amuneke should not accept this job again it’s obvious that energy and distrust of black coaches is before lever. But when was the last time a white coach won Afcon we should be careful what we ask for and not forgetting how the black coaches have been schooling white Coaches in Afcon finals. Aliou Cisse and Fae na black men that opened our eyes!!!

        • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

Amir Abdou (Former Comors and current Mauritania coach) is a black man. Drop that cheap race card you want to start playing

I will wholeheartedly support hiring him over Amuneke 100 times. The records speak..!

You can go and eat your “he qualified Tanzania for AFCON” crap.

Comoros and Mauritania are far lesser countries in football than Tanzania, yet Amir Abdou qualified both nations for their AFCON debuts and even reached R16 on both occasions at first time of asking, scrapping the heads of giants like Ghana and Algeria in the process. Thats’ no fluke…!

Your Amuneke could not even draw Kenya.

Despite playing hosts Cameroon without a recognized GK and with a man down in the 7th minute in the 2022 AFCON R16, Amr Abdou’s Comoros team only narrowly lost 1-2.

As coach of a tiny Island like Comoros, he boasted 11 wins, a whooping 16 draws and just 18 losses in 45 matches (24% win ratio)

In 24 matches as Mauritania’s coach he has won 10, drawn 6 and lost 8 (42% win ratio)

His lowest win ratio with countries with less pedigree than Tanzania is still higher than the 22% win ratio your tin-god could muster as Tanzania’s coach.

The stats and figures speak for itself…!

Once again I will support the hiring of an Amr Abdou, a Florent Ibengue, a Pitso Mosimame or even that 37-year-old coach of Sundowns club of South Africa over Amuneke.

Anyone who claims he doesn’t celebrate mediocrity shouldn’t be looking the way of a coach who has failed in his last 4 assignments straight as the National Team coach of Nigeria

Your so-called black coaches who are winning AFCON are winning with a harem of white men (mostly French citizens) as assistants and backroom staff, and your brain isn’t telling you those black coaches are just mere figureheads. They should come and win AFCON again without their French assistants lets see an.

          Continue deceiving yourselves.

Has he applied for the SE job? If yes then let NFF employ him and if No then what do you people want? This is not do or die affair @TheNFF has shortlisted coaches and his name is not there. Torrent and the other foreigner according to their achievement might be worst than whatever because they’ve not achieved anything as senior coach aside bronze.

          • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

So Amuneke has proven he has the midas touch that turns everything he touches to gold, yet he was demoted to academy coach and was on the crew that both failed to qualify for 2017 AFCON and 2022 WC abi….LMAOoo.

            Weldone ehn.

We will rather take coaches who will guarantee us bronze meadls than take the ones that cannot qualify for the tournament in the first place own…!

          • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

And are you God to know Amuneke will not qualify us? Continue lying to yourself!!!

          • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

Are you also God, to know he will…?

And since no of us is God what then do you think we should turn to for guidance in taking the right step…..facts or Sentiments…???

I thought you claimed you deal in FOREX…LMAOo….do you deal with sentiments or you deal with stats…? LMAOOo

FACT No 1: Since we 1st qualified for the WC in 1994, no foreign coach has failed to qualify us for the WC (Westerhof, Troussier, Rohr = 3/3)…… #FACT (Probability = 100%)

Fact No 2: Since we 1st qualified for the WC in 1994, the only times we have failed to qualify for the WC was under the tutelage of a local coach (Amodu, Chuwku, Keshi, Eguavoen = 2/4)……#FACT (Probability = 50%)

Fact No 3: Amuneke’s Coaching Form Record in his last 5 Senior Coaching assignments i.e. AlKhartoum, Tanzania, ElMaqqassa, SE, Zanaco, SE = (C, D, F, F, F)

You can still go ahead and put sentiments ahead of common sense to hire you kinsman.

You have stated categorically that you would rather miss another WC than not have Amuneke coach the SE…!

I can’t phantom that magnitude of Selfishness and Self-centredness.

          • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

The teams you mentioned have not won tea spoon since Amuneke left them. Amuneke is never a problem to any team. You’re only against Amuneke because I stand for him, it is only strangers on this forum that will not know this truth. Like I said NFF has the say on this and we will have to option than to wish whoever they choose well. For now make we sit down look and see who’s going get the Job.

Amuneke, Finidi are too controversial and with such disposition, are not going to perform any magic. Nff should employ a foreign coach after the qualifiers.

  • Omosade 3 weeks ago

Lol! I think musa is just being funny. Ahmed Musa ké???

  • What people are not even considering is the salary. The minister of sports has declared they won’t foot the salary of the new coach. We know how they had to intervene to clear the backlog of Paseiro’s accumulated to avoid a repeat of the Rohr scenario.

What was Toni Conceição previously? What is his current salary demand? What was Domènec Torrent Font’s last salary at Galatasaray? Would he be willing to accept NFF’s peanut offer? We know how stingy they are and never ever wanting to offer more than $45K or $50K?

Amuneke, I know, out of patriotism wont mind that salary? Unlike the other 2 final candidates, coaching the national team would not be just business. He’s Nigerian like the players and would be all about making history with the country. That would be a bigger motivation for him than money or football business.

  • Bestsport 3 weeks ago

To all those foolish football fans supporters of foreign failure coaches, make una clear road, enemies of Nigerian progress! Supporting another white half baked manager instead of Nigerias decorated living lovely legend AMUNEKE! BASED ON too many reasons no need to reiterates myself and comment here! Amuneke is best for now because of the short time available before the next crucial games! If you know football, you will know it is not club football but national team. So amuneke all day all year!

  • I challenge those supporting Amunike to disprove this abysmal records with senior teams both local and foreign.
What is Amuneke’s longevity and winning ration with all the senior team he has handled ? His winning ratio is less than 30% and has not stayed in a job as a coach for upto 9 months in the past 7 years.
The nff should do the right thing by hiring the best among the three shortlisted foreign coaches.
Football is a great business where good performance raises your values with good ranking and attraction towards high quality and lucrative friendly
    deals.
For example, BY getting us into the Final of AFCON Pesseiro raked in more than 100% ROU. He took the team to the only competition finals and best ranking position within the last decade.
What is the use of a top UEFA certificate with poor technical and managerial records ?
Talking about local coaches with similar certificates, you can place Amunike with Olise, Sia1 or Egbo.
If the nff insists on a local coach, Olise or Egbo remains the leading candidate.

  • Jephant 3 weeks ago

The competition to be appointed as Super Eagles Coach is getting fiercer as leading candidates are now exploring the social media to market themselves but the truth is that the Honourable minister who was quoted as saying “the Super Eagles Coach will be announced next week”, erred on the side of reality. The reason being you cannot be appointing a substantive coach looking at facts around time. Time is so important, in fact, so that if you didn’t have any, you couldn’t do anything at all just like saying because of the mad rush, time wasn’t availed the supposedly new substantive coach to deliver. In my honest opinion, I think Finidi should continue on interim basis while proper negotiation continues. Up Super Eagles!

  • Instead of an Amunike who is a serial failure as a manager, I would rather the NFF settle for Gbenga Ogunbote or Kadiri Ikhana. At least those are tested local coaches. Amunike lost all games in 2019 AFCON. People saying Tanzania had no soccer pedigree should tell us what pedigree Madagascar has. In the same tournament, Madagascar, under a real manager, topped their group stage, beating Nigeria 2-1. Or should we talk about Mauritania eliminating Algeria from the 2023 AFCON in CIV? Thats how coaches announce themselves on the continental stage.

  • @enaholo please what’s controversial about them? Can you just give us an example of what’s makes them controversial, don’t come here and tell us because he didn’t play certain entitled players during the friendlies.

  • What we just found out is that Austine Eguaveon the technical adviser should pick Coach Finidi George and Amuneke to form strong and formidable unit witj him as intetim coach being old players, and as Nigerians, are good to take the Eagles beyond qualifying games and to World Cup as indigenous coaches.

  • Is Amuneke the Right Man For The Job?

The NFF have at least made progress in shortlisting the number of candidates to three for the Super Eagles coaching role.

There is this divide as to whether to go for a local or foreign coach. My preference is clear: a foreign gaffer all the way.

But with Emmanuel Amuneke one of the front-runners, will it be such a bad idea if he lands to plum role?

It’s hard to tell really. His senior coaching record is not entirely glittering but it will be shallow to write him off on this basis.

My worry with Amuneke is if he will be able to command the respect of the players and whether he has the strength of character to assemble players that can buy into his philosophy in a compelling manner?

Again, it’s really hard to tell. The only data we have to go by is Amuneke’s underwhelming senior management football records. But even that can be an unhelpful barometer as to how he will perform in future.

So, at this stage, the NFF has to do their due diligence and recruit whichever coach performs best in the interviews with presentation on how they will take the Super Eagles from where we are to where we ought to be.

Aside Late Keshi and Amodu, indigenous coaches rarely qualify Nigeria for the World Cup and rarely perform beyond the semi-final of Afcons.

Perhaps, if recruited, Amuneke can buck that trend – I hope so.

  • Siasia has gone viral recently on how Mikel “Mikel Obi stubborn”, out of my league he could not handle him and found him arrogant..

That is that factor the Jealous factor of our ex Internationals.. Who just missed the Financial boom of ball and are quite Honestly jealous of how much the generation after them gained Monetarily in the boom.. Post 2000.. Well if this is not the reason then it must be that they Ex International class of 94 just don’t want thier status and achievements outdone by any class after them hence the insesant sabotaging.

No Ex International will do well with our High Profile Players Non let it be marked somewhere was it not the Same Amuneke Who came out openely and said Salah should be CAF best Last year when every Nigerian was supporting the Eventual winner Osimhen I mean who would have thought that Amuneke who was Osimhen’s Coach at Under 17 level would have banked against him.. Well Enough said.

Nigeria does not need an Indigenous Coach and if we must get one it does not have to be players from the class of 94.

What is the Jealousy their, would he be the first coach to say he is arrogant, oga abeg comot here with your sarcastic comment. What’s high profile about your current kids? when it comes to instilling discipline that’s when people like you come out and say rubbish about them hating on them. many of the ex are old enough to be their father. Your comments are just laughable, shouldn’t your current generation be striving to outdo the ex-players, its just disheartening seeing your comment filled with hatred for a fellow human being. You can go blow yourself to pieces if you can’t stand them.

  • It’s really funny how some people on this forum feel that they could play the victim card on every issue.
If it is Musa invitation, they will accuse the team of tribalism for inviting an inactive player.
Now the same set of people are now claiming that a serial failure who’s been put of job is deserving of leading the nationsl team.
Even when faced with facts, they will turn on uncultured and ignoramus behavior.
Osage just released a bombshell on local coaches acting as players agent and depriving deserving players of team invitation.
The Super Eagles team does not need a serial failure cum headmaster, It needs a qualified coach with track records. Pesseiro is even better than the shortlisted three. The nff should reinstate Pesseiro to continue from where he stopped. I have no doubts he will use the lessons from AFCON to improve the team.
The ROI on Pesseiro is more than 200%.

  • Mr Hush 3 weeks ago

The only reason Amunike will be hired,(if employed), is on emotional grounds, nothing else. And that’s setting a bad precedent in foresight.
Coaches are hired and fired based on records or lack thereof. Why should Amunike be different? Why should we be held down on emotional blackmail cause ‘he is our own’?!

I dare say, if we are not going for a quality foreign coach and insist on an indigenous coach, why not keep Finidi? What’s the difference between him Amunike or Eguavoen? It’s still going to be the same sentimental management.

Though not for me, if we want to go the ‘ only Nigerian ‘ route, we got far more qualified Nigerian coaches better positioned than Amunike out there. Old or Fresh.

We should stop being sensitive and making excuses cause reality doesn’t play that game. This is the Super Eagles. This is for the country. For millions of Nigerians. It is serious business. As much as emotions brings balance to our lives,in this context,we have to be meticulous, decisive and more importantly, rational.

We should simply make the logical choice and get the most qualified of the applicants, based on records. And we all know, records doesn’t favour Amunike.

    • Records doesn’t favour a coach that qualified Tanzania to a biggest tournament in Africa?

You still prefer Paseiro, Oga Rohr and others half done foreign coaches to Amunike?

Please let’s respect ourselves so that outsiders can respect us. Amunike is over qualified to manage Super Eagles.

Just a quick question please, between Amunike, Paseiro and Oga Rohr, pick one out if the three and give me your reasons.

I hope you remember that Amunike discovered Oshimen and Chukwueze and I believe he will discover more talent players for the Super Eagles soon. Long story
short, Amunike is the best for the job not the foreign coach. Ire Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

      • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

So qualifying Tanzania as the last of 4 best losers in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers makes Amuneke a “full done” coach abi…?

I wonder what would happen if he were to be the man who qualified and reached R16 with 2 debutants (Comoros and Mauritania) in 2 AFCONS back-to-back.

You would probably be calling on the govt to rename MMIA after him…!

        • Dr. Drey, see how you are taking Amunike for granted.

You have no regards for Amunike but I can tell you that you will come back here to apologize to Amunike soon.

          Are you satisfied with Paseiro?

Don’t you think we should give Amunike a chance to prove his worth?

It is Amunike or nothing. We are tired of foreign coach. We need a change. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

      • Mr Hush 3 weeks ago

Yes @Omo9ja. RECORDS doesn’t favour Amunike.

Tanzania qualified inspite of Amunike. Much was dependent on his opponents flaws rather than his tactical prowess. Even if I give him his flowers on that, his tactical deficiency was exposed in the tournament proper.

He failed in Egypt. Failed in Zambia.

Yes. He discovered Osimhen and Samu at the U17 level. In that regard, why don’t we give the Super Eagles job to Manu Garba because he discovered Iheanacho,Awoniyi etc.? After all he won the U17 world cup as well!

Humour me . Do you really think under age football, scouting and the nine yards are the same as Senior football?

Well, respectfully and with permission, I will refer you to @Larry previous list of Amunike’s record and @ Dr Drey’s above. These are all factual and are easily verified.

And with all respect, I wouldn’t waste yours or mine, picking between Amunike, Rohr or Peseiro . It has no bearing to this conversation.

While I appreciate your sentiment on Amunike , my position will always be on the side of merit.
The reason the Super Falcons have a level of stability and partial growth is because the coach was picked based on records. He was simply the most qualified of the applicants at the time. Though Waldrum has his shortcomings (especially with Trinidad and Tobago),he has senior championship titles to his name. He has basically created sporting program. Hence there’s no surprise he got the job and doing well so far with the Super Falcons.
We want the same of the Eagles. Same managerial expertise ( if not better) and definitely, the stability.
Coaches must earn their office. Merit over anything.

    • @Mr Hush, I want to ask on what basis you’re rating Eguavoen and Finidi ahead of Finidi?

Is it on the basis of their records as SE coaches? An opportunity that Not only Eguavoen and Finidi had had with abysmal results, but also Olise, Siasia, and Amokachi? What makes the star man of their generation (the 1994 AFPOTY winner and scorer of all trophy-winning goals at Atlanta and Tunisia 94) not worthy of the same opportunity?

Is it on the basis of being deemed quality enough by a foreign national team or club to be hired? Which none of them bar Amuneke has achieved. The only other of their set that did it, Keshi won us the 2013 Afcon. This was the only indigenous coach at par with Amuneke in my opinion. He’s not at the level of anyone else.

Is it on the basis of winning a tournament they led the team to? Which Eguavien (U17), Siasia (U20), Oliseh (CHAN), but Amuneke succeeded in?

Is it on the basis of their coaching license, which only Amuneke has the UEFA Pro A license, the highest coaching certification?

What was Paseiro’s stellar record before coming to Nigeria to burnish his image and demand a higher salary after Afcon? At least over 100 coaches applied for the SE role, and Amuneke is the only local coach who made the final shortlist of 3. That says a lot. How does Amuneke then come behind any living local coach, including Findi and Eguavoen?

If he didn’t explore with FIFA U17 coaching role, and his jobs in Tanzania and clubs in Sudan, Egypt, and Zambia, what criteria would we have used? Eguavoen had none of this except the inability to even qualify a U17 from the group. No past records to judge him by, yet he was handed the SE coaching role?

Paseiro had nothing to write home about in Venezuela and Paseiro, yet we were okay for him to handle the SE. But never Amuneke. Because why? His record in Tanzania was worse than Paseiro’s record in Saudi Arabia? Even the so-called Torrent had a terrible record with Galatasaray, but we wouldn’t mind him being handed the job. But Amuneke must solely be judged based on those same indices?

      • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

I laugh reading your highly sentimental dimension to this discourse. You are practically just saying it is Amunke’s turn since his 94 squad teammates have had their turns, more so being the one who scored the goals that won AFCON and Olympics. We can as well just go and bring Wilson Oruma to coach our U17 team or Sunday Mba to coach the SE now.

I’m sorry the SE job is not a “turn by turn” business.

First an foremost, amuneke is not even contesting this job with any of his 1994 teammates, otherwise your benchmarking him with them would have been valid.

He is contesting with a Toni Conceciao and a Dominic Torrent so kindly base your comparisons with those guys and tell us if his CV is more impressive than theirs. That is how jobs are gotten in civilized and professional climes.

If he has a better CV than theirs, fine…let him have the job, but I bet you wouldnt be talking like this if any white man indicates interest in the SE job with the kind of CV Amuneke is parading. A vivid example is that Domenec Torrent doesn’t seem to be good enough for you, despite his long term successful association with Guadiola as an assistant manager, based on the fact that his profile as a Manager has been underwhelming, But Amuneke with his own very rag tag senior team profile suddenly looks fitting for a SE role just because he is your own…? Are you not lowering standards and belittling your owns by doing that, which is accepting from your owns what you wouldn’t even touch with a long stick from a foreigner…?

I don’t know who and who applied for the SE job…but I bet it is sentiments that has put Amuneke’s name on the 3 man shortlist and it will be sentiments that will make him get the job eventually if at all he will.

Just as in the case of Joseph Yobo, many of those who are clamoring for Amuneke are club owners/administrators in the Nigeirian league, why have they not appointed him to coach their clubs all these while since they have so much faith in him…? Why is it that it is when ti comes to the SE which they often want to turn to a market place, that they remember being an exinternational is enough to coach the SE…??

Secondly, all those 94 guys we have been experimenting with out of pity and sentiments have ended in disaster, yet you are advocating for us to experiment with another one whom we already even have the benefit of gauging with his last 4 assignments with senior teams which have all ended in disaster too…? The fact that all you have to list as Amuneke’s accolades are mostly his playing career achievements is already a red flag.

We are sorry, we have given people SE jobs previously solely on the basis of what they achieved as players or as youth coaches rather than what their CVs say of their capabilities to deliver with senior teams….and the results are there for all to see…FAILURE..!!!

We are not ready to fail again just on the sentiment that its our own. Failure with our own is no less a failure than it would be if with a foreigner.

You said Peseiro burnished his career with the Nigeria Job…..I wonder why all those other guys you listed didn’t or couldn’t do the same when they had their chance too.

        Failure doesn’t burnish a man’s job. Success does…!

Let the man who’s previous testaments guarantees he can deliver for us now get the job…! I don’t care if he is a Ghanaian, an Egyptian or even from Comoros.

  • Show ilis Amunike’s coaching record with senior teams, they begin to parabulate and gyrate around the dot.
Someone is even talking trash about a coach that got a team to its first final appearance within a decade. A coach that got his team to the finals of the most competitive AFCON ever.
A coach that got the team to its highest rating in a decade.
A coach that was so smart to adjust his tactics to the best approach for the set of players he took to AFCON.
If these are the 3 shortlisted candidates, them Pesseiro should be allowed to continue. He has got momentum going well for him. He understands how to get the best out of the serious players and how to allow the unserious ones rot in bench. All he needs to do is to retain the about 15 players that justofied their invitatiom and replace the extra tires.

    • @Larry, could you first kindly show us the coaching record with senior teams of Paseiro, Eguavoen, Oliseh, Siasia, etc before being handed the SE roles?

Oliseh, Siasia, and Eguavoen had no coaching record with senior teams before they were entrusted with the SE, yet they’re okay? They even failed at the age-grade. Yet they’re better. You’re judging them on their records at the SE level, but don’t think Amuneke should have that chance.

Should we even talk about Paseiro’s failure with Venezuela and Saudi Arabia? But you’re judging the man so harshly cos of all the indigenous coaches in Nigeria (aside the late Stephen), he’s the only one who has had a coaching record with senior team that is not Nigeria.

Show me a single living indigenous coach that has both won a global FIFA tournament and coached a foreign national team and club? Just one! Not 2. Who has had that courage if they were that good?

Suddenly Paseiro is good cos he had a chance to coach SE after we overlooked his “serial failures” in Venezuela and Saudi Arabia.

Let’s see if NFF would be able to afford the asking salaries of Torrent or Conceiciao, which I suspect will be in the region of N120K. Otherwise, Amuneke is the confirmed next SE coach cos he’ll accept $50K, which the others won’t.

In less than a week, we shall al rest from the arguments and accept reality. Amuneke is 80% likely to get the job based on finances at least.

      • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

Peserio may have failed with Venezuela and Saudi Arabia, but he had the pedigree of being a several-times domestic and continental finalist in his club coaching career to fall back on. So we could give him benefit of doubt.

Yet we were all witnesses to his struggles, even with a big team like the SE. It showed vividly that he was not one with experience of imposing his ideas with 2-3 training sessions as obtainable in International football as opposed to club football where you get to be with your players almost every day

Pls, what does Amuneke have to fall back on if we choose to overlook his serial failures …? U17 World Cup was won a decade ago…? Really… a boy’s tournament?

Pls, tell us how many U17 WC-winning coaches you know globally who proceeded to be successful with Senior Coaching…?

U17 World cup is nothing in the eyes of serious footballing nations….its a developmental tournament for both players and coaches for most of them. Its like the Gothia Cup or Toloun Tournament or Varrgio Cup or those youth tournaments spread all over Europe. Its not what serious coaches bank on in their CVs to get Senior team coaching jobs at club or international level. It can be a major advantage when applying for a “youth coach” job, not a senior coaching job.

We can as well just engage Manu Garba who built by far the best U17 team Nigeria ever produced….a team that ever only lost once in over 70 matches. He even went ahead and won the U20 AFCON thereafter whereas yours sincerely failed to qualify for U20 AFCON when moved a step higher.

Yea, congrats to Amuneke for having the courage to even step outside to compete for jobs. But it has all ended in tears. He should keep working hard to better his records so far, otherwise the “he qualified Tanzania for AFCON” story is stale now. Others have not just qualified teams to AFCON but have made huge statements with those teams. This is 2024, and international clubs and national teams will not buy that any longer….and surely they wouldn’t buy “he won a boys’ tournament a decade ago” too.

All eyes will be on what has happened afterwards.

Pity sentiments are not supposed to be on the front burner when we want to select a substantive coach for the SE.

        • What was Xabi Alonso’s record before he coached Bayer Leverkusen? What was Pep Guardiola’s record before he coached FC Barcelona? What was Cisse’s record before he was appointed Senegal coach? What was Steven Gerrard resume before he became Rangers coach? What was Xavi Hernandez record before he was appointed Barcelona coach?

          • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

            Google is your friend…!

          • Respect is reciprocal 3 weeks ago

@john I respect you more than what you just spoke out. Asking which club was Pep and Xabi were before they were employed at their current clubs. Before even considering their coaching careers , just take a retrospect at their football career , they both played at better clubs than your own Amunike , internationally they played for Spain a country that is more organized and exposed than Nigeria. Before these two coaches became the coach of Bayern and Barcelona they must have been seconded to several top clubs to understudy football tactics and organization.
Now come back to your own Amunike whose only success and exposure is U17 with bunch of mostly over rated players. How  many top clubs have Amunike understudy that makes him qualify to be the head coach of Super Eagles.
Now talking about Cisse, it is unfortunate that Cisse wasted best generation of players from Senegal. His only achievement was just winning nation cup, with the caliber of players that Senegal had then if they were coached by a seasoned coach , they have the potential of reaching semi final. Look at the way England made them look stupid at the World Cup. It’s high time we realized that players alone can’t win trophies , African needs to invest on coaching to bring out the best in our games.

          • Dre – I don’t need any Google to check the coaching records of the listed coaches. They all coached academy players before getting their coaching jobs. Only Xavi Hernandez coached Al Sad (which is not enough CV to coach FC BARCELONA). Xabi Alonso coached Real Sociedad B (more like an Academy). Pep Guardiola coached Barcelona B too. None of them had any huge reputation or achievements before being appointed to coach huge clubs. In fact, no one expected Pep Guardiola to take over from Frank Rijkaard when big Coaches like Mourinho submitted application lol.

          • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

So which one of the above was ever demoted for poor performance…? If they were serial failures even at academy level would they have been given bigger jobs…?

Which one of them is currently coaching their National teams now….??? Or did they all not have stellar enough playing careers for the Spanish FA to have employed any of them as National team coach…?

And if any of the above will be chosen by the Spanish FA to coach their national team today, who do you think it be…? Xavi Hernandez right…LMAOoo….since he is the one with the most decorated “playing career” and balon d’or finalist of them all, and not Pep Guadiola who is the most decorated COACH of them all…LMAoo

          • Xabi was formerly a real sociedad coach while xavi coached a qatari club. I double dare the Nff to give the SE managerial job to Amuneke and see what will befall their life.
Someone that is not even qualify to be an u20 coach.

        • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

Can we give this man a chance and judge him after the World Cup qualifiers??? He is a Nigerian and not a stranger to our football that we should be treating him like this. My heart feels for Amuneke because I don’t know why Nigerians don’t even value themselves. What if you were the one treated like this after all your accomplishments with your country? Karma is real o! Win or loose WCQ is not the end of the world at least we will learn something positive hopefully.

          • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

            Hahahahaha……Sentiments..!!!

At this stage of the WCQ should any sane person be suggesting we be doing trial and error…?!

We have a South Africa with a master tactician in Hugo Broos ahead of us. We have another Banana peel in Gernot Rohr who can potentially directly or indirectly hurt our chances, and someone is here telling us to take chances just on basis of sentiments….LMAOoo.

            Really…?!

Give a man who has failed in flying colours on his last 4 jobs straight a chance as gratitude to him because he once played for us and judge him after we have been dumped out of the World Cup.

            Wow.

            Another all-time low….!!!

When we gave Siasia a chance in 2011 despite coming 3rd in the interviews for the SE job, was he a foreigner…? Was he a stranger to our football…? Did we not value him….?

When we gave Oliseh a chance in 2015 was he a foreigner…? Was he a stranger to our football…? Did we not value him….?

When people like your racist self cooked up all sorts of lies and conspiracy to force Rohr out and forced Egavoen on us in 2022 with Amuneke added to the crew to “add tactical sagacity” were they foreigners…? were they strangers to our football…? Did we not value them….?

I guess you never learnt anything positive in all these previous instances. It is now you want to learn….LMAOOo.

How much is Amuneke paying you…?

And you talk of Karma….LMAOoo. Its like the Karma that hit you when y’all conspired to get Rohr out of the way unjustly did not teach you a lesson. Now you want to unjustly deny a more qualified person a job just because of his nationality and skin colour…?

Is Amuneke the most qualified on the 3 man shortlist….? Hell NO

And you claim you don’t celebrate mediocrity. You claim you always aim for excellence, for the best….LMAOoo. All of a sudden, you are ready to settle for not qualifying for the World Cup……LMAOooo.

That is how low racist and nepotistic folks like you can descend
            if given the opportunity.

There is no way I can ever be treated like this. Any job my CV cannot get me is not mine…!!! And I thank God for how far and wide He has taken me.

            What a crap…!!!

Give this man a chance and judge him after the qualifiers… really… WCQ is not the end of the world?

Really. Does this lad know what is at stake at all…??

          • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

Who’s your choice of coach and what makes you sure he will guarantee us success? You should be smart enough to understand that in life it’s either a win or loose and life goes on. Don’t act like you’re a child that does not understand life all in the name of debate.

          • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

Nothing is assured in life even Pep can not guarantee us a qualification so come out of this dramas. Everything in life is a risk until the result shows. You either take it or leave it and still loose by not trying. At this point there’s no need to continue the back and forth because NFF will do whatever they want and we will have no say.

          • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

            Congratulations.

Since nothing is guaranteed in life and everything is a risk, pls stop locking the doors and gates of your house henceforth, be you indoors or outdoors.

And when you go out and need to cross a busy road, pls do not look left or right before you cross.

Let the results show you how wise or unwise you are as a person.

          • not partaking in 2 successive world cups is devastating to our football and a huge slap on the face of players like Osimhen and Boniface. Nigerians born abroad wont even think of switching nationality to play for the Eagles anymore. Its shocking that supposed Nigerians are willing to throw away world cup participation just to have Amunike coach Eagles

          • You are just being sentimental. Amunike was good as a player, but si ce he started coaching what has his performance been like? Since he coached our U17 to win the world cup,how well did he perform with the U20 when he was given the vhance. He should go and develop himself at least get into the finals or semi-finals of a club cup competition. The task of handling youth teams cannot be compared to handling senior teams.

        • All this gang ups against Legend Emmanuel Amuneke have failed woefully. “When God says Yes, no mortal can say no”.

Amuneke is a SE Legend and an award winning coach and a world beater (whether it’s U10 or U2, he is a world beater). Take that to the bank.

Does he have Coaching Experience at senior levels yes. Pls what has G.rohr achieved this far with Benin Rep. team since he left SE???

Legend Emmanuel Amuneke all the way for the Super Eagles Coach!!!

          CAF African Footballer of the year 1994;

          Tunisia 1994 AFCON Gold Winner;

          Atlanta 1996 Olympics Gold Winner;

A Wing Wizard for FC Barcelona, Zamalek FC, Sporting FC,…

          Coach and Formator of the Current CAF African Best Footballer (Victor Osimhen 9);

          A Coach of high standing – World Beater and Winner (Chile 2015 Gold, U17 World Cup);

Coached – Julius Berger, Ocean Boys, Al Khartoum, Tanzania, Zanaco, et al…

Super Eagles Legend Emmanuel Amuneke for the SE Head Coach. Congrats!!!

        • Bashiru 3 weeks ago

And how many years ago was that? oga abeg go and follow their team and leave those tha want Amuneke. Na by force.

      • My comments are not motivated by emotions or hatred, they are real fact. Are you comparing Amunike with Pesseiro ? Pesseiro had coached top clubsides in Europe including Porto and Africa Al Ahly), won trophies, reached UEFA cup final before applying to coach the Super Eagles.
That is the globally accepted model for coaches.
Amunike has failed in all senior coaching jobs. Besides, he has failed to develop since winning the cadet trophy.
If Pesseoro criteria is applied to the requirement, none of these three will get to the stage. Amunike is only there because of sentiments and power play.
Finidi is still the coach of Enyimba and he gas won the local league. What is stopping Amunike from coaching a local vlubside like Heartland or Abia Warriors. He has been jobless for a long time. Is he bigger than Finidi in World football ? Has he achieved more than Finidi in coaching and playing careers?
The national team is not a rehabilitation center, it is a global brand for deserving coaches.

        • Bashiru 3 weeks ago

Before joining the Super Eagles, can you tell us why paseiro failed with Venezuela. I believe you have the record. The one that was qualifying us with games to spare, can you tell us how he is fairing next door. May i suggest you go check his record before saying Finidi achieved more than him. You all are just being sentimental.

  • Harry Izehi Ihensekhien 3 weeks ago

    @Kel

Firstly, if I had my way ,I would never have hired any. With all due respects to the mentioned names, none are good enough for the Eagles, if the FA really regards the Super Eagles. If we are that good with finances, we should be seeking higher and much more better quality.

    But alas, here we are.

That said, I stand to be corrected but Eguavoen, Peseiro are much more qualified than Amunike based on records and experience.

Eguavoen took the Eagles to Afcon bronze. Won the Federation cup with Enyimba.
Peseiro took Sporting Lisbon to UEFA cup finals. He won the Portuguese FA cup with Braga.

Though both Eguavoen and Peseiro path have been mostly inglorious, they have actually shared a bit of success. AND this is in Senior level.

I am not against Amunike’s exploring but that his records out there has not painted him in a good light.

And like I said, I am not a big fan of most of the applicants, I feel the Super Eagles deserves better. But this is where we find ourselves. To those available to us, I just don’t trust Amunike’s record. I got nothing against him, I am a big fan. He is one of my favourite Superstars. But I am just being logical here.

But as you alluded to in one of your write ups, if for Financial reasons the Fa can’t get the better qualified coaches and pick Amunike, I will respect their judgement, wish Amnunike and support him. It is for our good.

I suppose like yourself, I just want the best for the Country. We just came out of the Afcon as runners up ,looking forward to a competitive world cup qualifier, we got to improve and a momentum to sustain.
Besides, we do deserve something good sometimes.

  • Ayphillydegreat 3 weeks ago

Amunike is not good enough, Finidi is not good enough. At best they can continue to work as assistants to any decent foreign coach. We can never win this WorldCup group with an indigenous coach. I have nothing against indigenous coaches, but in my opinion non of them can manage the SuperEagles. They’re mostly player agents and they can never command the respect of our players. Especially players filled with ego and extremely talented.

If we can not afford a decent foreign coach to continue from where Peseiro stopped then we should just watch our WorldCup hopes go down the toilet. Nigeria can never afford a Klopp or Mourinho or Simeone or Pep or even Pochetino.

A good tactical foreign coach with vast knowledge of African football and man management in the region of $50k to $100k shouldn’t be too much for us as a football nation.

  • Kenneth 3 weeks ago

What has Gareth Southgate won, since he became coach of England, even as a player. Was made England under-21 manager despite his losing record at Middlesbrough. So what makes him different from Amueneke. So after 3 games with a team that makes him a serial failure, na wa for una in that country.

    • Nigeria we hail thee 3 weeks ago

Football is about winning trophies and national team aren’t platform to test job.It is a sheer ignorance to compare Amuneke with Southgate. Southgate apart from winning more matches than Emmanuel, he has taken the 3 lions to Quater finals, semi finals and finals.
Even with this achievement if he doesn’t with a trophy soon the England FA is likely to part ways with him.
Amuneke is still learning and can’t manage the SE Period. Let him prove himself with Heartland FC

      • Kenneth 3 weeks ago

Ignorance, yeye comment. Stop shooting yourself in the foot. If football is about winning trophies maybe you can tell us why he hasn’t won one in 8 years. Oga abeg go park somewhere so na quarter-finals, semi-finals, finals dem dey chop, or you think they will win Euro2024 next. Were you not screaming up and down that he is a serial failure, was southgate not hired from losing record and same applies to pasaeiro, so what else do u want, even Egbo that you all rubbing in our faces, is yet to get a quality coaching job.

        • Nigeria we hail thee 3 weeks ago

You be raw mumu. You think u can bring tribal cards to football and win.
What has yr Amunike achieved? And why is still jobless?
Try him with your state club first and take all the success or rest for life.

          • Kanneth 3 weeks ago

What tribal card am I playing. Yeye dey smell, so mention what Southgate has achieved with 3 lions (quarter finals, semi finals, finals) no single cup in 8 years. Have not heard their FA asking for a foreign coach. But yet you want to rubbish our own.

  • Onwajunior 3 weeks ago

Well, according to owngoal, NFF has closed on a foreign coach today. Glad if it’s true bcos owngoal has been all over the place.

    • Jeffery 3 weeks ago

Which one are we going to believe, one minute its local coach, now it’s foreign coach next they have gone to beg paseiro to come back.

  • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

For the first time I have a feeling that just as God choose Manu Garba as the U17 coach, he will also force the NFF to rightly choose Amuneke as the Super Eagles Coach then finally replace Bosso with Coach Olumide for Nigerian Football to rise again. We will be like Mount Zion at this point that will not be defeated but abide for a very long time.

    • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

Hahahaha…so why didnt God choose Nduka Ugbade who couldnt qualify for the U17 World Cup over Manu Garba who assembled the greatest U17 team of all time (1 loss in over 70 matches) and won the U17 world cup…?

You see that God is not an unjust God.

It is quite Ironic that you want someone want people who have shown proven and unarguable competence and achieved something tangible in their various cadres to occupy those coaching positions but want a serieal failure at Seniro level to be the overall Senior National team coach…LMAoo

Whatever Amuneke has paid you, better go and refund him.

The fact that you would rather we not qualify for a 2nd consecutive World Cup (which would affect the careers of this great bunch of players that we have) just to have your daydream of Amuneke coaching the SE says a lot.

It was sentiments like these that made us not qualify for 3 out of 4 AFCONs, sink to 16th place in Africa and 70th in the world and destroy the market value and desirability of our players at the time (Onazi couldn’t sign for even a championship club in England simply because we were ranked 70th in the world).

How we got out of that pit is well-documented and a story for another day…!

Once again, Whatever Amuneke has paid you, better go and refund him. And advise him to toe the steps of his mate Finidi and get a club a at least win something tangible as a senior team football coach in his career, lead a team to the CAF CL or CC like Fidelis Ilechukwu to grew a church team into a team that plays in CAF Club competition or Like Gbenga Ogunbote who took an unknown club like Sunshine Stars of Akure to back-to-back Semi final of CAF Club Competitions. Do these not sounmore befitting to hear about a coach’s profile than the “he scored the winning goals of Tunisia 94 and Atlanta 96” rhetorics you and your group are peddling over the place. What has scoring winning goal got to do with a man’s coaching career….LMAOoo

It is not worthy of a former AFOTY to always get booted out of jobs for not making any meaningful impacts…worse still getting demoted to Academy coach in one of such instances.

      • Thanks à million Dr.Drey, keep it up and nothing more to add.
Most folk always play the tribal and victim card either for selfish interest or as silent enemy of the Nigeria state.
Football does not descriminate and so the best gaffer should be given the job and to a foreign expatriate because all our local coaches are agents

      • Amunike’s U-17 squad produced the current African footballer of the year. So technically, Amunike assembled a better U-17 Squad. Many Garba’s team have all disappeared into thin air except Kelechi Iheanacho who’s is constantly bashed here by same people here lol

      • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

Lol you don’t even have a point when you compare Garba to his assistant Nduka Ugbade. I have always said it that there are signs of accuser of brethren written all over your sentiment. Manu Garba rather assembled the best u17 team composed of Awoniyi and Kelechi Iheanacho that bemused the world with total football. Manu Garba is an example of excellence whose them brimming with brilliance gave Nigerians the best moment of that year in world football.

Only an enemy of football will not agree when they see the truth. The bible says they that compare are not wise so let everyone be judged according to their deeds. Another thing that surprises me is why you’d think anyone will support Amuneke for sentiments if not you who have something against an ex international because somebody is in support of his past achievement. I will continue to look at his positives and you can continue to look at negative that will only make him Better.

Have you always passed every hurdle in life? If yes then cast the stone to Amuneke and if No then let God give you the grace to learn from every experience to make you a better person in your field. If you claim to always be 100 percent at your endeavours then you are free to judge a man that has achieved both good and wrong.

It is only a wizard that doesn’t like progress that will not admire Amuneke’s record both as player and a coach to do more if given the opportunity in his homeland. Continue fighting a man that doesn’t know you and achieved greatness.

        • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

Hahahaha…between you and I who is polluting everywhere with sentiments now…LMAOoo.

You just admitted Manu Garba, based on certain verifiable and measurable metrics, is a far better choice than Ugbade as our U17 coach…even though Ugbade won the U17 World Cup as a player and even won WAFU U17 cup as a coach too.

I can bet that if Manu Garba were to be a white man, you would claim Ugbade should be a better choice since he had a stellar U17 career as a player (he even was the captain of the team). Hell another bigot is up there claiming Amuneke built the best U17 team in Nigeria’s history even though the whole world knows that his U17 team never comes near Fanny Amun’s not to even talk about Manu Garba’s that lost only 1 game in over 70. What will we not hear from your likes…?!

The exact same sentiments is what you are sponsoring in the case of Amunike. His playing career is the most glorious thing you can say about him as compared to his coaching career….What Hypocrisy…!!

Yet you proudly quote a biblical passage the CLEARLY STATES “….that let everyone be judged according to their deeds…”

Mr man, even if reading english is painful for you, is comprehension also paining you…?

Now judge the 3 man coaching shortlist according to their deeds….not the colour of their skin or their nationality. Is Amuneke the best on that list…???

Google is your friend…..Put Amuneke and Toni Conceciao on a scale, and swear by the God you serve that Amuneke weighs higher than Concecciao by every metric in Senior level coaching.

There is no need for you to descend so low into cheap blackmail because you cannot give any logical reason to defend your choice of Amuneke over the others, other than nepotistic sentiments. Nobody hates Amuneke, but as someone who claims he is a fan of excellence, why settle for 50% if you can have 90% or 100%…??

If we claim we want the best, then we should go for the best…! And how do we identify the best other than taking an unbias look at what each man has done with his career, MOST ESPECIALLY at the senior level….given that the SE is not a youth team and the demand, dynamics and deliverables of youth coaching is as far as the heavens from the earth in relation to Senior Coaching.

If the best for you is the man who has coached close to 6 clubs in his career and has never as much as even gotten to any cup final or finished respectably on a league table but mostly does the opposite (swim them into relegation waters), in fact he was even demoted to Academy coach in one of his many misadventures….. If the best for you is the man who has assisted 2 major failures (2017 AFCON and 2022 WC Qualifications)….If the best for you is the man who through a sold final home qualifier, qualified Tanzania for a 24 Team AFCON as the last of 4 best loosers, but found even Kenya too difficult pick a point from at the main tournament (Madagascar defeated Nigeria in 2019, Comoros defeated Ghana in 2022, Maritania defeated Algeria in 2024, even a PE teacher like Rohr managed to muscle out a draw for Niger republic vs DRC in 2013)…..If these are the “past coaching achievements” that makes him the next best option for you as SE coach……then I have no option that to heartily congratulate you for your irredeemable nepotistic nature.

I have had several hurdles in life, but I let my portfolio speak for me, not my connections or my racial or political affiliations. Any job or project my profile and portfolio cannot get me is not mine and will never be mine. I have never been a scarvenger and will not start being one till I breathe my last.

The fact that you want to turn this to a love/hate argument says a lot….that is, since you cannot succeed in providing a fact based backing for your client, then blackmail all logical correct opposing views emotionally. But Mr Man…the world has left that tactic behind long ago and moved on.

  • Can someone give me a logical answer;

    Why Amunike?

I just don’t get it. Still trying to wrap my head around it. There simply isn’t any rational reason for Amunike to get that job. None. His record at ‘senior level’ speaks for itself. Nigeria is too big a footballing nation to be a testing ground. We are in a dire situation in the world cup qualifier to be relying on ‘hope’. We should remember we are going against a superb tactician like Hugo Broos and familiar face in Rohr. This is no time for sentiments.

    • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

      Q: Why Amunike?

A: He scored the winning goals of Tunisia 94 and Atlanta 96….LMAOo

      • @Dr Drey

oh dang.. that must be enough to employ him as a Senior Level coach.

But what about Oliseh, He scored that beautiful goal at the world cup against Spain. He must be perfect as well.

or better yet, Finidi. He scored that lovely chip against Greece at the world cup. He must be a fantastic tactician like Maradona.

        Please.

Still waiting for a rational answer.

        • @ Dr Drey

I sincerely hope they help us see reason why it must be Amunike.

I think we are missing something from Amunike’s Cv. We just can’t see it.

    • Akunde Kwagh 3 weeks ago

We need a home product and to grow it. It doesn’t matter if he doesn’t do well now, but ad long as he grows and improves. No club or country in the West will give him and other African coaches the opportunity to grow, not even the Toures.
Grooming a local coach who has potentials at home is like waiting in hopeful hunger before fetching and feeding from your own farm.
We want to be self reliant. No field be soared and sacrifices must be made, as long as the vision is clear.
What have foreign coaches offered us at the world cup and nations cup after all? 2nd place, 3rd place and 4th place finishing? These are not the results we want. So, they are indispensable.

      • Oh wow. Great answer for both doctors, God bless you more @Akunde Kwagh.

Let me start from Dr. Hush first. You see doctor, what we are saying here is very clear. We are tired of foreign coach, with what Oga Paseiro did in afcon, we are tired of them all.

For you Dr. Drey, I know you just don’t like anything black and you don’t believe in your people.

Are we that bad? Do you think we are all curropt?

Amunike is what we need. It is Amunike or nothing. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

        • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

It is like your brain has stretch marks..!

Maybe you were in coma when I have been advocating for Pitso Mosimane, or Florent Ibengue or Amr Abdou on this forum. Shebi the colour of their skin is Torqoiuse Pink…?

Or maybe your eyes were on leave when I mentioned the likes of Kenedy Boboye, Fidelis Ilechkuwu and Daniel Ogunmodede, 3 of the best young and consistent coaches we currently have in our league.

You are tired of foreign coaches who are at least putting us on the podium but seemingly obsessed with your owns who keep disgracing us each time we give them simple assignments.

Rohr used the SE to upgrade his CV…Peserio used the SE to Upgrade his CV, but all your local coaches in the last decade always end up having a worse CV whenever they are leaving the SE than b4 they are given the job.

Cant you see you need psychological help…?!

        • Kenneth 3 weeks ago

Honestly you get time responding to this parrot. What does he know. Ask him and his ass-lickers what Amuneke is doing currently all they would be doing is assumptions. Abeg ask him If Pitso have a UEFA coaching badge. With all the noise he is making up and down, what is his clubs current position in Saudi Arabia. Apart from keshi, who else was given an opportunity to stay long. But rather come here and support fire brigade approach of the NFF when it comes to the local coaches. When did you start supporting local coaches thought our league is nothing to write about.

So Boboye with UEFA badge C is superior to Amuneke with a pro licence o ma se o.

      • Dr. Drey 3 weeks ago

Hahaha….. is obvious that non-qualification for tournaments is the result you want. Bcos that is what this your generation of lazy, arrogant, overrated and self-entitled home products have been offering since over a decade now.

The SE is now the creche where ‘home-products’ must be nurseried. They cannot grow by taking up jobs in the NPFL….. They cannot grow by leading our clubs to at least group stages of CAF competitions which they have found to be perennially elusive……..They cannot grow by leading our CHAN team to consistent participation and challenge for the CHAN trophy (since it is widely believed we have ‘many talents’ in our local league)……They cannot develop by being long-standing understudies in the SE.

Their only developmental route is always straight from the highest coaching job in the land.

Continue to treat your national team as a nursery and let’s see if Nigerian players will remain desirable in the global football market after we have plunged back to 70th in the world becos we can no longer qualify for even our continental tournaments.

  • @respect is reciprocal did you just say pep and Xabi Played at better clubs than amuneke, this is why I wonder why many of you rush here to type nonsense. So Barcelona and sporting Lisbon are not top clubs. It’s obvious you just hate seeing a local coach taking the helms of affairs.

    • Nwachukwu chiagoziem 3 weeks ago

@Dr drey you have nailed it all
      AMUNEKE is a serial failure.
You think NFF are unwise to handover SE him.
If Amuneke is the choice NFF would have announce him since.

    • Respect is reciprocal 3 weeks ago

Amunike played at Barca but how many games did he play. What was his legacy at those clubs

      • And what’s your point. You were quick to rush here to say he didn’t play for any top clubs and am reminding you he did. Maybe you can Google his achievements online rather than coming here to tarnish a mans career because he doesn’t suit what you want

      • It was never about ability at Barcelona but injuries. Amunike’s story was like Osman Dembele, Owen Hargreaves, Prosinecki e.t.c. He was crack in the few games he played for Barca. Even with his Barca injuries, he was a terrific player for Nigeria – A BIG NATIONAL HERO!

  • Ndubest 3 weeks ago

Amunike has lost out afterall, a foreign coach will be announced before the end of this week. No Nigerian coach can handle eagles at this time cos of corruption.

  • Akunde Kwagh 3 weeks ago

So, Amunike is the child of rejecting choices. See how we insult ourselves and want to rank high among the high. Africans are often times the problem to themselves or reason of their own undoing. And you will expect Amunike to do well, coming as a third fiddle.

    • SuperGoals 3 weeks ago

All this issue of looking for a new coach would not have arise, if Finidi had used the same formation he should in defeating Ghana in the friendly and had defeated Mali, he would have saved Nigeria a lot of stress and he would automatically be appointed as the new coach. I just wonder who advise him to change the formation and bench the relevant players in the friendly against Mali, I suspect foul play from his employee NFF.

Finidi had the solution to the problem Persero faced during the AFCON when you watch him plyed the Ghana, I just hope is not a deliberate sabotage to hire a foreign coach an collect kick back / commission from the foreign coach salary. I rest my case TIME WILL TELL!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Chima E Samuels 3 weeks ago

You’re right but Finidi’s temperament exposed his flaws at that instant most especially how he handled the team with so match jittery. To coach the SE your confidence level must be top notch and he lacks that confidence. I wanted him to get the job but he is not tough enough when the going gets hard.

  • National Orientation Agency is not nff and can not make decision for nff. Amunike serial failure is now officially the coach of the SE managed by an unrelated entity. By the time this brouhaha is over Amunike will be an unfortunate story of a lucky footballer who ignored the impact of humility and faith but got blinded by
ego pushed by delusion aided by bigotry and ended up on the grass level. The nff is not foolish to hand the team to someone that does not measure up to their requirement.
The nff knows that hiring the serial failure is like digging their funeral which will mark the end of second term. No Wcup means new nff leadership

@Larry you are one of the supporters of Siaone if I am not mistaken but I am shocked that you misjudged this one and turned blind to what Amuneke represents. Just because we disagreed on this one will not make us opposition instead I will allow time to bring to light what we all must know.

      • @Chima, honestly I couldn’t believe your mistaken identity of what Amunike represents. I avoided replying to your earlier submissions on this cuz I wasn’t sure it came from you.
I will always identify with transparency, merits, and credibility. Shortlisting Amunike and rejecting better local options us an action that lacks these three qualities.
Hiring a foreign coach with better resume than Pesseiro remains my submission. Otherwise, Pesseiro should be reinstated because none of these 3 can match his resume. The nff is the main problem, similar treated was meted out to Waldrum. Knowing fully well that Pesseiro has grown in confidence and acceptance like Waldrum and can’t be pushed aside, the nff is not willing to retain him cuz they want a pushover coach. Now, they are in real dilemma. Loose the Wcup tickets and forget second term!

  • Amunike must NEVER be allowed to manage the SE, Finidi cannot manage the SE, none of our “local” coaches can do so, not becuase they are local, but becuase they are simply not good enough perioud!

I can see all this nasty Igbo tribalistic bushmen, bigoted morons including that mumu chima s samuel and that kel are trying to kee threselfs trying to force that clueless and jobless Amuneke on Nigeria but it will NEVER EVER work – and if the NFF bottle the job and gives it to Amunike then meaning Nigerian will never saw World cup or Nation cup or qualify for anyting until the yeye man clears off.

You can all saw this yeye igbos like chime a sameul and kel faking like there aba market reputratoin forming fake yoruba names here like Kenneth, Bashiru, OPE lolz, you igbo guys are just too stoopid, that is why they are called you people EWUs lolz – common gerrout there! mtscheew

Why can’t you focus on your argument? Must you insult people? What has the tribe got to do with SE coach? There are many Igbos here, including me, who have always advocated for foreign coaches, others are more of “may the best amongst the lot get the job”.

Mehn!!! Naija sha…we have a long way to go with this mentality. My own is that I want to watch us play at the WC…Shikena!

  • The sports minister reminds me my arithmetic.

If we look deeper into the Super Eagles coaching job we will find out the problem of the Super Eagles.

Let me do the math again.

    Sports minister+NFF=0 leadership.

Then let’s take away sports minister, what do we get, 0.

Now, let’s add NFF ajewomasan the debtors to it again, we are still going to get 0.

Meaning, no matter how the sports minister and NFF try, they are still going anywhere.

Sorry I have to stop here for now. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
